What Silence Speaks…

What Silence Speaks…

What Silence Speaks…

by Karan Shahani

When your inner voice speaks to you,
When your mind finds peace,
When those church bells ring into your soul,
When you slow dance along with her,
Then you realize what silence speaks.

When your heartbeats drop dead,
When you cry alone on the bed,
When your loved ones walk away,
When you vaguely stare at her photograph,
Then you realize what silence speaks.

When the scribbling on a paper can be heard,
When the bark of the dog wakes you up in the night,
When you lose a match by a point,
When you peep quietly outside a train’s window,
Then you realize what silence speaks.

When you listen to her footsteps loudly,
When on a busy road you stand lonely,
When the clock ticks in your head slowly,
When the drop of water can be heard clearly,
Then you realize what silence speaks.

When in garden crickets around you speak,
When in jungle you hear hyenas howl,
When along river the sound of water seems divine,
When among mountains your voice echos,
Then you realize what silence speaks.
