Silences

Silences

Have you ever heard silences?
Trust me. They speak.
A lonely teen, struggling carrying around the burden of his parents’ dreams
On his back that is meant to be responsible.
Who despite having hundreds of virtual friends on social media
Sits by the lake, alone, as his only friend soothes him with songs in his ears.
Despite having bundles of thoughts ready to fire at the tip of his tongue cannon
He turns to papyrus to vent out the cyclone of emotions in his mind.
Sit by him. Hold his hand.
And as the winds at the lake carry away his agony to reveal his true smile,
You’ll hear the silences. Trust me. They speak.
A friend, who never went out of stories to tell.
Who disguises as the happiest, befooling the world using his tools of laughter and words.
Who despite wearing the perfect nonchalant mask
Fails to hide his eyes that speak volumes of the dungeon he struggles to escape from.
Caged in his dismal monotony, he never got an opportunity to break free and pursue his passion.
And with the alarms set early, he showcases his best dance moves. Under the shower.
Hug him. Reminisce your old memories.
And as nostalgia fills his eyes with content and unmasks his desolate face.
You’ll hear the silences. Trust me. They speak.
A lover, who would give you his all.
Who would take all your banters, listen to all your rants and refrain from ever complaining!
On nights gloomy and days bitter, you would always have a shoulder to cry on. An arm to hold onto.
He’ll accept your ambitions as his. And never look for happiness until you smile!
And in his 25th hour of the day when he gets to work,
He would sleep on his desk. Terrified of the night.
Let him know how much you love him.
And as the cavities in his heart are mended with the love beyond the hugs and kisses
You’ll hear the silences.
Trust me. They speak. Trust me. They speak.
