As I sit on the edge
of the concrete world,
the wind pulls my hair with its
cold hands.
the orange hue,
leaves my sheath
as the daylight bids farewell.

My diary open and
some words scribbled,
absurd.
there are days
when my thoughts dance on songs
and rhythms.
and there are days when
the sullenness sings.

I believe it is okay to
be reluctant some days.
and it is okay to want to
‘carpe diem’ the rest.
no one tells you how to feel,
for, you are the fierce sky.
The current that keeps
the river alive.
and yes, there are days
when the blue yonder is hazy
and the water remains still
waiting for its ripple.

No, no one tells you how to feel.
The feeling infallibly goes away.
but, nothing stops you
from laughing until your
stomach hurts,
crying till your pain wanders,
and keeping still until the rhythm
comes back.

No, no one tells you how to feel
or what to feel
for, you are yours before theirs.
