To go away, and find yourself,

Is it quite Coca Cola?

To shop from old, vintage stores,

Is it quite whiskey soda?

To stand on a stool, and straighten a tie,

Is it quite Jaya Bachchan?

Have a million friends, but never say hi,

Is it quite social network?

To pour gasoline, on dancing cars,

Is it a teenage dream?

To be strong, independent, but ‘somehow getting by’,

Is it quite ripped jeans?

To suffer from everything, but physical deprivation,

Is it quite 50 Shades?

To answer a question, in song, sex and sensation,

Anything but Marvin Gaye?

To smile politely, while your feet walk to office.

To know everything, but still be a novice,

To lack ability, but teach it to others,

To like what we see, or give it to lovers,

When everything in the world, can be mixed with soda,

I just want to know,

Is my life quite Coca Cola?

Ranjini Sircar - Everything Sharmaji ka beta ever wanted to be. Hopefully, in a few years I’ll be successful enough for people to say ‘She must have slept her way into that position’.
