Guest’s Entry: All Our Insecurities

ALL OUR INSECURITIES

by Devki Gandhi

Insecurities, they are a part and parcel of everyday life. But what is it that triggers them? Is it seeing your friend surpass you, or seeing your boyfriend with another girl? Is it knowing that you may never have what he, she or they have? I don’t know. However, what I do know is that insecurities kill you. They take over your body slowly, and then in the blink of an eye, rob your mind of the happiness that lay within. So why do we easily fall prey to them? It’s human nature, people say. In reality, it is the monster within us that just won’t quit.

It is a collection of a thousand aspirations, that lie dead and the hundred dreams that kill themselves. Insecurities. They create hell. Let go of it. But wait, don’t. You weren’t going to listen to me anyway. Try it out. Watch your world getting destroyed right in front of your eyes and then decide for yourself. You might wish you had taken my advice.
