A Woman

A Woman

Who is she?

A woman.
Who is she?
Someone who is spoken about,
more often than not?
Who is she?
A fragment of our world or imagination?
Who is she?
The ‘object’ of our desire or the undesired?
Who is she?
The one who warms the bed or bears the prodigy?
Who is she?
The antique decoration or the new toy everyone wants to play with?
Who is she?
Is she the sculpture on the walls or the mannequins in the malls?
Who is she?
The one whose dignity is the pride of your family or the one reason you are ashamed?
Who is she?
The one whose identity cease to exist or exists because she isn’t you?
Who is she?
Is she a person in your eyes, a human being at all?

Abha Mehra

Abha tries to survive days with fried food with cheese. You'll find her bossing around or in a corner trying to make sense of all the words that come not so naturally to her. Be it taking naps in the afternoon or a free pizza, she is ready for both all the time. If you like what she writes, feel free to gift her jhhumkas over peach iced tea.
